All commemorative coins are minted in limited quantities and are only made available by the U.S. Mint for a limited time. The Mint oftentimes releases commemorative coins in Proof (PF) and Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) selections. Commemorative coin designs are authorized by Congress to celebrate and honor American people, places, events, and institutions.
