Best of the Mint 1907 St. Gaudens Gold Coin & Silver Medal Available Today

The fifth and final release in the Best of the Mint series will be available from the United States Mint today beginning at 12pm EST. The Mint will honor the impact of the 1907 Saint-Gaudens High Relief $20 Gold Coin.

Honoring America’s semiquincentennial, the Mint has put together a five-set series paying homage to United States coinage. The sets will feature a reissued gold coin along with companion silver medals depicting modern designs and reflecting the meaning of their gold counterparts.

Like the 1907 version, the $20 High Relief Saint-Gaudens coin from West Point will showcase Liberty on the obverse. Striding forward with her hair blowing in the wind and her left foot raised on a rock, she holds a torch in her right hand and a branch in her left. The sunrays and Capitol building are in the background. LIBERTY and MCMVII are inscribed, and the Liberty Bell privy mark with the number 250 is featured on the right.
