2023 W Congratulations Set Silver American Eagle Coin PF70 Ultra Cameo First Day Issue NGC 1st Label

A popular annual release from the US Mint since 1987 (with exception in 2009), these American Silver Eagle Proof Coins carry a face value of One Dollar from the US Government and are minted in 1 Troy Ounce of pure 99.9% silver. Considered a collector item, this proof version carries a higher premium than their non-proof brilliant uncirculated counterparts which are also minted in higher numbers. Customer demand determines the number of proof coins minted each year - therefore the mintage is never officially known until the following year, but are generally much less than BUs.

Weinman’s full–length figure of Liberty in full stride, enveloped in folds of the American flag, with her right hand extended and branches of laurel and oak in her left. Inscriptions are “LIBERTY”, “2023” and “IN GOD WE TRUST”. Then the reverse design features a heraldic eagle with shield, an olive branch in the right talon and arrows in the left. Inscriptions are “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA”, and “1 OZ. FINE SILVER – ONE DOLLAR”. This 2023 SAE version also includes Adolph A. Weinman’s original “AW” signature mark. The new reverse design features an American bald eagle swooping into view with an oak branch in its talons. Inscriptions are “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA", “E PLURIBUS UNUM” and “1 OZ. FINE SILVER ONE DOLLAR.”

American Eagle One Ounce Silver Proof Coins are struck on .999 fine silver blanks and bear the "W" mint mark indicating their production at the United States Mint at West Point.

First Day of Issue (FDI) & “1st” Label Explained

The First Day of Issue (FDI) designation confirms this coin was received by NGC on or within the first day of its official release. Coins with this designation are highly sought after because they are tied directly to the initial release window.

The “1st” label further emphasizes this early release status, giving collectors a premium presentation that highlights both timing and quality.
