2016 marks the 30th Anniversary of the minting of the Proof Silver American Eagle. New on this 2016 version is edged lettering to celebrate the 30th anniversary - the words "30th ANNIVERSARY" is incused.

The obverse (heads) of this coin features Adolph A. Weinman’s full–length figure of Liberty in full stride, enveloped in folds of the American flag, with her right hand extended and branches of laurel and oak in her left. “30th ANNIVERSARY” is incused on the edge of the coin. The reverse (tails) features a heraldic eagle with shield, an olive branch in the right talon and arrows in the left.
