2023 West Point Mint (W) Burnished Silver American Eagle (SAE) MS70 First Day Issue (FDI) NGC 1st Label

The term "Uncirculated-burnished" refers to the specialized minting process used to create these coins. Although they are similar in appearance to the ordinary Uncirculated (BU) Silver American Eagle Bullion Coins, the burnished coins can be easily distinguished by the addition of a 'W' mintmark on the reverse and the satin-like field behind the frosted features on the coin. Burnished ASEs are made expressly for collectors and still contain 1 troy ounce of .999 fine silver.

The FDI (first day issue) designation guarantees that the coin was received by NGC or an NGC-approved depository within one day of the first release of a the coin issue. Each coin will arrive in its certified NGC case bearing the 70 grade in NGC's 1st (first) Day Issue label.
