1895 New Orleans Morgan Silver Dollar in Very Good to Very Fine Condition
The 1895-O Morgan Silver Dollar is a notable coin within the Morgan Dollar series, minted at the New Orleans Mint. In VG condition, the coin will exhibit noticeable wear on the highest points of the design. Lady Liberty’s portrait and the eagle’s details will be worn, with much of the finer detail in the hair and feathers becoming smooth. In VF condition, the coin will show moderate wear on the highest points, but more detail will be preserved compared to VG condition.
1895 O Morgan Silver Dollar in VG/VF
The obverse features a portrait of Lady Liberty designed by George T. Morgan. She is depicted wearing a Phrygian cap with a ribbon, symbolizing liberty. The inscriptions on this side include "LIBERTY" at the top, "E PLURIBUS UNUM" across a ribbon along the bottom, and the date "1895" at the base of her neck. The reverse of the coin shows a bald eagle with outstretched wings, clutching an olive branch and arrows. The eagle is encircled by a laurel wreath, with the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" above and "ONE DOLLAR" below. The "O" mintmark is located beneath the eagle's tail feathers.
