The Semiquincentennial quarter series continues with the release of the second coin from the United States Mint. Available in 100-coin bags and in a 2-roll set from Philadelphia and Denver, the quarter dollars can be yours tomorrow beginning at 12pm EST.
Aiming to commemorate American Liberty by reflecting on our nation’s history and its foundational principles, the 2026 quarters will be a one year only issue and are just a few of the many coins and medals from the Mint recognizing the 250th anniversary of the birth of the nation.
As we move past the Mayflower Compact, we now shift to the Revolutionary War. The obverse showcases George Washington, the first President of the United States and the Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army during the American Revolution. E PLURIBUS UNUM, IN GOD WE TRUST, and 1776 ~ 2026 are inscribed.
The reverse depicts a Continental Army soldier at Valley Forge. Washington’s men endured brutal conditions as the winter brought extreme cold and many were faced with starvation, disease, and severe hardship from 1777-1778. The encampment was a critical turning point for the Army as they were transformed into a cohesive unit for battles against the British. The soldier’s gaze on the coin reflects the will to overcome the hardships of war in the pursuit of liberty. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, LIBERTY, 25¢, and REVOLUTIONARY WAR are inscribed.
The 2-roll (P & D) set will retail at $56.00 while the 100-coin bags will retail at $63.
Remaining designs for the one-year only quarter program will reflect the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution, and the Gettysburg Address.
