1878 7 Tail Feathers (7TF) Morgan 90% Silver Dollar About Uncirculated to  Brilliant Uncirculated (AU/BU) Condition Coin

1878 was the first year issue of Morgan Silver Dollars.  Minted from 1878-1904 and again in 1921, Morgan Silver Dollars were designed by George T. Morgan in 90% silver which is .900 silver and .100 copper for a net weight of .77344 ounces of pure silver per coin. Although there are no mint-marks on the coin it was minted at the Philadelphia Mint. The 1878 overall (P) mintage of Morgan silver dollars was 9,759,300 with 7 Tail Feathers. The 7TF variant is characterized by the eagle’s tail feathers, specifically having seven tail feathers.
