1927 Denver Mint (D) Peace Dollar Silver (XF/AU) Extra Fine to Almost Uncirculated Condition

The 1927-D Silver Peace Dollar is a notable coin within the Peace Dollar series, which was issued to commemorate the end of World War I and symbolize peace. Designed by Anthony de Francisci, the Peace Dollar is celebrated for its modern and elegant design.

1927-D Peace Silver Dollar XF/AU Coin

The obverse of the Peace Dollar features a detailed profile portrait of Lady Liberty, modeled after de Francisci's wife, Teresa. Lady Liberty is depicted wearing a radiant crown, symbolizing enlightenment and freedom. The inscriptions include "LIBERTY" at the top, "IN GOD WE TRUST" in two lines on either side of Liberty's neck, and the date "1927" at the bottom. The reverse displays a majestic bald eagle at rest, clutching an olive branch in its talons, symbolizing peace. The eagle is perched on a rock inscribed with the word "PEACE." Surrounding the eagle are the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM," with the denomination "ONE DOLLAR" below.

The coin is described as being in XF/AU condition. In XF (Extremely Fine) condition, the coin exhibits light wear on the high points of the design, such as Liberty's hair and the eagle's feathers, but overall retains sharp details. In AU (About Uncirculated) condition, the coin may have slight traces of wear on the highest points, but much of the original mint luster and detail remains.
