The American Silver Eagle program has come a long way since its inception in 1986. The United States Mint continues to create brand new yet familiar variations of the coin, including this next and first of its kind Silver Eagle releasing tomorrow at 12pm EST.
Struck at West Point, the limited edition 2025 W Proof Silver Eagle will feature a special laser-engraved Privy mark to commemorate the Mint’s latest technology (laser engraving) used to create master tooling, or the tools used to create the dies that strike the coins we know and love today. The enhanced technology, as per our understanding, will be used for the foreseeable future.
The obverse of the familiar $1 denomination Silver Proof coin will feature Adolph A. Weinman’s Liberty in stride with the flag wrapped around her. She carries laurel and oak in her left hand while her right hand is stretched forward. The Privy mark is featured on her lower right.
The reverse showcases an eagle landing carrying an oak branch.
The 1oz .999 fine silver coin, retailing for $105.00, is limited to 100,000 in mintage and product with a household limit of just one per customer.
The American Silver Eagle will come in a black presentation case accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
