1886 Liberty V-Nickel in Good to Very Good Condition
The 1886 Liberty V-Nickel is a prized early-year issue from the long-running series designed by Charles E. Barber. Struck from copper-nickel alloy, the coin features Liberty facing left on the obverse, adorned with a coronet inscribed “LIBERTY” and surrounded by thirteen stars. The reverse displays the Roman numeral “V” encircled by a wreath, representing the denomination of five cents. As one of the scarcer early dates in the series, the 1886 issue holds a special place in V-Nickel collections.

Offered here in G/VG (Good to Very Good) condition, the coin shows clear major design elements with well-worn but identifiable details. While circulation wear is visible, the date and core design motifs remain readable, making this a desirable piece for collectors focused on filling the tougher dates in a circulated set of Liberty Head nickels.
