Each animal of the lunar zodiac is said to bestow its dominant characteristics on those born during its rule. The sixth of 12 auspicious animal symbols, the snake confers wisdom, intelligence, independence, and charm on those born under its influence in 2025, 2013, 2001, 1989, 1977 and every 12th preceding year.

The coin features a curled blue snake resting on the ground below some dangling leaves. The Obverse features King Charles III along with Inscriptions "AUSTRALIA", "30 DOLLARS" and "1KILO 9999 Ag". It also includes a 1-gram insert of pure gold with a privy mark showing the Chinese character for "Snake," along with the inscription "SNAKE 2025" and The Perth Mint's signature "P" mintmark. Limited mintage of only 388pcs in total.
