Custom minted in the USA at the SilverTowne Mint in Winchester, Indiana using pure .999 fine silver bullion. The design for the Red Line Flag is intended to pay homage to Firefighters/Firemen and women and add additional focus to the country they serve with the American Flag. The red line is commonly used by fire departments to show respect for firefighters injured and/or killed in the line of duty and is also referred to as the "Thin Red Line of Courage". The Fire Department Silver Medallion then features common fire department representative emblem, a Fire Fighter Maltese Cross for fire departments, which includes common symbols of the trade such as the fire hydrant, an axe, a hook and ladder, a pike, a fireman's helmet, and a bugle/hose nozzle. Enameling includes black around the outer edge with the emblem in the same red as the red line flag. The words "FIRE" and "DEPT." are found above and below the emblem. The reverse of each bar and round features our standard non-dated backs with the weight and purity designation of "ONE OUNCE .999 FINE SILVER" and "FIVE TROY OUNCES .999 FINE SILVER"displayed around the area designated for engraving.
