2024 Fiji Silver Coin Vault 1oz Antiqued Coin and Silver Plated Ingot

In the beginning, back in the 18th century when the U.S. started, banks didn't have the fancy vaults we think of today. They kept their cash locked up in strongboxes or secure rooms. As more banks popped up, the need for better security became obvious. By the 1800's, the early versions of actual vaults started to appear. These were typically rooms made stronger with iron doors. But things got more series around the mid-1800s when companies like Diebold and Mosler began making vaults using heavy steel and iron, thanks to the Industrial Revolution which gave them better materials and techniques. Jumping into the late 19th and early 20th centuries, bank vaults got even tougher. They started using super thick steel and complex locks. By this time, even the federal reserve got involved standardizing secure practices as they set up shop in 1913. From about 1920-1930 was the Golden Age of Bank Vaults, with massive steel doors and underground setups that made them tougher to crack. It was during this time that the famous vaults at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York came about, holding massive amounts of gold deep below the street.

You will receive a single $2 coin embedded in the center of a half-dollar ingot. Both pieces feature an antique finish and are backed by the country of Fiji. Together, they form a completed locked vault on the obverse. On the reverse of the coin, you will find Fiji's national coat of arms, which includes two Fijian warriors flanking a shield, with the motto "Rerevaka na Kalou ka Doka na Tul" displayed below the shield.
