2023 P Australia Silver Kangaroo 1oz Coin MS70 NGC Flag Label

Struck by The Perth Mint from 1oz of 99.99% pure silver in bullion quality, the coin is issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965 with an unlimited mintage. The design stays the same from year to year other than the year-date; the silver coin’s reverse portrays the classic red kangaroo design by Dr Stuart Devlin AO CMG, goldsmith and jeweler to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Then the obverse of each coin bears a new/updated effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark along with the legal tender denomination.

AUTHENTICATION FEATURE These coins include an authentication feature on the reverse. In the form of a micro-laser engraved letter ‘A’ which is within the first A of AUSTRALIA, it is only detectable under a magnifying glass. The authentication feature is designed to make it significantly more difficult for the coin to be counterfeited providing peace of mind to collectors.

The main significance of this silver bullion coin is that it was the first ever silver bullion issue from Perth to be struck in .9999 fine silver rather than .999 fine silver. A recognizable symbol of Australia, the kangaroo features in the Australian national emblem alongside the emu.
