2023 Columbus Day Special

Barber Half Dollars are a series of 50-cent coins that were minted in the United States from 1892 to 1915. They are named after their designer, Charles E. Barber, who served as the Chief Engraver of the United States Mint. The Barber Half Dollar is part of a larger series that also includes Barber Dimes and Barber Quarters. The obverse (front) of the coin features the head of Liberty, facing right, wearing a Phrygian cap. The word "LIBERTY" is inscribed on the band of the cap, and the year of issue is below the portrait. The reverse (back) of the coin features an eagle with outstretched wings, holding a bundle of arrows and an olive branch. A shield is positioned at the eagle's chest. The words "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "HALF DOLLAR" encircle the design.

2023 Columbus Day Special

The 1892–1893 Columbian Exposition Half Dollar, which was issued to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Christopher Columbus's arrival in the Americas. The coin was designed by Charles E. Barber, the Chief Engraver of the United States Mint. The obverse features a portrait of Christopher Columbus, while the reverse depicts a representation of his flagship, the Santa Maria, along with the names of the Nina and Pinta, the other two ships in his fleet. The coin is made of 90% silver and 10% copper, with a weight of 12.5 grams.
