This Christmas 2022 silver coin issued from the country of Australia by the Perth Mint is $2 face value weighing in at 2 troy ounces of .999 fine silver with an antiqued surface treatment and 24-carat gold plated jingle bell.

2022 Christmas Jingle Bell Silver Coin

A certificate accompanies the coin celebrating Christmas 2022. Struck by The Perth Mint from 2oz of 99.99% pure silver, the coin is issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965.

Featuring an antiqued surface treatment, the coin portrays a Christmas wreath comprising a ribbon, mistletoe, ferns, fir cones and a star anise. Additional elements include gold colored decorative baubles, candy canes and Christmas berries. The Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark is also included in the design.

Encased in the coin's center is a 24-carat gold-plated jingle bell. Traditionally, small jingle bells were attached to horses as adornments. More practically, they provided advanced warning pedestrians, especially in winter when horse-drawn sleighs could be difficult to hear or bring to a halt. In popular culture, the sound of jingle bells (also known as sleigh bells) is associated with the approach of Santa Claus in a reindeer-drawn sleigh on Christmas Eve.

The obverse portrays the Jody Clark effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, a decorative ribbon, and the coin's weight, purity, denomination and year-date.

The Perth Mint will release just 2,500 of the Jingle Bell 2022 2oz Silver Antiqued Colored coins.
