For the first time in 70 years, a new monarch was crowned in Great Britain! The Coronation of King Charles III took place at Westminster Abbey on Saturday 6th May 2023. To celebrate this occasion The Royal mint created the 2023 Coronation coin with The effigy of King Charles III on the Obverse and then on the reverse The King's royal cypher, a monogram that consists of Charles III's interlocking initials and with a crown above. Only 150,000 of these coronation coins have been made. Also included in this two coin set is the 2023 Britannia with King Charles III effigy and the reverse being Britannia.
