2023 Cameroon Silver and Copper 750th Anniversary Church of Mary Lubeck Crucifix Shaped Coin in Original Government Packaging (OGP) with Certificate of Authenticity (COA) included

In celebration of the 750th Anniversary of the ancient, historic Triumphal Cross, this legal-tender coin was released by the Republic of Cameroon. With a denomination of 2000 Francs CFA and dated 2023, the coin is in the shape of a crucifix and is bi-metallic, made of both pure copper and 999 fine silver. A 1/42nd scale replica of the Triumphal Cross, this coin measures 71.8 mm x 64.3 mm (or roughly 2¾" x 2½”). The cross itself is struck in pure copper (80 grams) and the figure of Jesus Christ is one-troy-ounce .999 fine silver. This gorgeous coin is Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) condition and will arrive safely within the original oversize capsule accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity (COA). Mintage is limited to just 999 worldwide.

2023 Cameroon Silver & Copper Church of Mary Lubeck Crucifix Coin

The original Triumphal Cross is located in St. Mary’s Church in Lübeck, Germany. Completed approximately 750 years ago, the original was intricately carved out of oak and is a massive 5’ x 10’ in size. The artwork was commissioned by Bishop Albert Krummedick who, in exchange for payment of the work, is depicted kneeling at the base of the carved cross along with the Virgin Mary, Mary Magdalene and the apostle John. It is believed that the sculptor is Bernt Notke, although no official documentation can be found.
