2022 United States Mint Set – First Year of the American Women Quarters

The 2022 United States Mint Set marks a major transition in modern U.S. coinage, debuting the American Women Quarters Program and introducing a fully redesigned packaging format. This year’s set includes standard uncirculated business-strike coins from both the Philadelphia and Denver Mints, now presented in a more compact non-folder style packaging instead of the long-used multi-panel folders. According to the official Red Book, the 2022 Mint Set had a low mintage of just 243,555 sets, placing it among the scarcest modern Mint Sets.

The first five issues of the American Women Quarters series are represented here—five from each mint—honoring: Maya Angelou, Dr. Sally Ride, Wilma Mankiller, Nina Otero-Warren, and Anna May Wong. Each design appears with bold uncirculated detail and strong mintmarks. Alongside the quarters, this set includes uncirculated examples of the 2022 Lincoln Cent, Jefferson Nickel, Roosevelt Dime, Kennedy Half Dollar, and the 2022 Native American Dollar featuring the “Ely S. Parker – Code Talker & U.S. Army Officer” reverse.

Collectors will also notice the updated presentation: the Mint shifted to a sleeker, simplified packaging system beginning in 2022, replacing the traditional folder-style panels with a cleaner, reinforced card-and-cellophane layout. This new format highlights each coin clearly while reducing overall package size.
