For the 2021 release of the Koala silver coin series, the coin's reverse depicts a sleepy koala in its treetop habitat nestled between the branches of a eucalyptus. A "P" mintmark can be found on each coin along with the Jody Clark effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the 1 Dollar face value on the obverse. Each coin also includes an authentication feature n the reverse in the form a a micro-laser engraved letter. Detectable under a magnifying glass, it is designed to make it significantly more difficult for the coin to be counterfeited.

The mintage limit on 2021 1oz .9999 Silver Koala BU coins is no more than 300,000 units.
