1967 United States Special Mint Set – Final Year of the SMS Series

The 1967 United States Special Mint Set (SMS) marks the third and final year of the Special Mint Set program, issued during the period when the U.S. Mint suspended both Proof Sets and traditional Uncirculated Mint Sets. This set includes one example of each circulating denomination struck in 1967, all produced with the distinctive SMS finish—sharper and more refined than regular circulation strikes. The U.S. Mint released a total of 1,863,344 Special Mint Sets for the year.
