2010 United States Mint Set – First Year of America the Beautiful Quarters

The 2010 United States Mint Set features satin-finish uncirculated coins from the Philadelphia and Denver Mints, marking the final year of the special satin treatment used exclusively in Mint Sets from 2005–2010. This year also introduces the America the Beautiful Quarters Program, represented by ten quarters—five from each mint—honoring: Hot Springs (AR), Yellowstone (WY), Yosemite (CA), Grand Canyon (AZ), and Mount Hood (OR). According to the official Red Book, the mintage for the 2010 Mint Set was just 583,897 sets, making it one of the lowest-mintage Mint Sets of the modern era.

The set also continues the Presidential Dollar Program with four satin-finish coins depicting: Millard Fillmore, Franklin Pierce, James Buchanan, and Abraham Lincoln. Additionally, the 2010 Mint Set includes the second release of the Native American Dollar series, featuring the “Great Tree of Peace” reverse. Rounding out the denominations are satin-finish Lincoln Cents, Jefferson Nickels, Roosevelt Dimes, Washington Quarters, and 2010 Kennedy Half Dollars. All coins are presented in modern folder-style Original Government Packaging (OGP) with Mint-issued protective cellophane securing the satin surfaces and mintmarks.
