2007 United States Mint Set – First Year of Presidential Dollars
The 2007 United States Mint Set is a landmark release featuring uncirculated examples of every circulating denomination from the Philadelphia and Denver Mints. This year marks the debut of the Presidential Dollar Program, and the set includes the first four Presidential Dollars in uncirculated satin finish: George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and James Madison. The popular 50 State Quarters Program also continues, with ten State Quarters—five from each mint—honoring: Montana, Washington, Idaho, Wyoming, and Utah. According to the official Red Book, the 2007 Mint Set had a mintage of 895,628 sets.
Alongside the Presidential Dollars and State Quarters, the 2007 Mint Set includes uncirculated Lincoln Cents, Jefferson Nickels, Roosevelt Dimes, Washington Quarters, 2007 Kennedy Half Dollars, and the 2007-P and 2007-D Sacagawea Dollar. Beginning this year, the U.S. Mint transitioned from the traditional envelope-style packaging to a sturdier, more visually appealing folder-style presentation, better showcasing the satin-finish coins introduced in 2005. Each coin is sealed in Mint-issued cellophane within the folder panels, preserving crisp mintmarks, sharp strikes, and bright uncirculated luster.
The introduction of the Presidential Dollar series, paired with the refreshed packaging and the continued use of the satin finish, makes the 2007 Mint Set a standout choice for modern collectors. Its strong State Quarter lineup and sub–one-million mintage add further long-term appeal for those building a complete run of Mint Sets or assembling denomination-focused collections.
