2009 United States Mint Set – Lincoln Bicentennial Cents & D.C./Territorial Quarters

The 2009 United States Mint Set is one of the most extensive and highly collected modern sets ever released. Featuring satin-finish coins from both the Philadelphia and Denver Mints, this set captures multiple landmark U.S. coin programs occurring simultaneously. Most notably, 2009 marks the 200th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s birth and includes all four special Lincoln Bicentennial Cents—Birth & Childhood in Kentucky, Formative Years in Indiana, Professional Life in Illinois, and Presidency in Washington, D.C. The set also includes the complete lineup of D.C. & U.S. Territorial Quarters honoring: District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Northern Mariana Islands. According to the official Red Book, the 2009 Mint Set had a mintage of 784,614 sets.

Beyond the historic cents and quarters, this set includes four satin-finish Presidential Dollars featuring: William Henry Harrison, John Tyler, James K. Polk, and Zachary Taylor. It also features the debut year of the Native American Dollar, showing the “Agriculture: Three Sisters” reverse design. Rounding out the denominations are uncirculated Jefferson Nickels, Roosevelt Dimes, Washington Quarters, and 2009 Kennedy Half Dollars, all in the signature satin finish used from 2005–2010. All coins are housed in the modern folder-style Original Government Packaging (OGP), with each mint’s coins presented across multiple colorful panels.

The 2009 Mint Set stands out as a collector favorite thanks to its low mintage, multiple one-year-only designs, and its representation of a major milestone in Lincoln’s legacy. It is widely considered one of the most desirable Mint Sets in the satin-finish era and remains essential for collectors completing runs of Presidential Dollars, State and Territorial Quarters, or Lincoln Cent series.
