San Francisco Proof American Silver Eagle To Be Released in Mid-October

With all of the products delayed this year due to the ongoing complications of COVID-19, we were never really sure when things would see the light from the United States Mint. Progressively, the Mint would finally start releasing products and releasing dates. More recently, they updated a lot of items from “Fall 2020” status to specific days and times. One of those dates is October 13th and will feature the third release overall of the American Silver Eagle program for 2020.

Bearing the “S” mintmark representing the San Francisco Mint from which it was produced and struck, this Proof American Silver Eagle will be the third consecutive annual release for the program that started in 2018. Comprised of one Troy ounce of .999 fine silver and packaged in a blue velvet, satin-lined presentation case, the obverse of the classic Adolph A. Weinman design features Lady Liberty in full stride. She remains enveloped in the American flag while her right hand extends out and branches of laurel and oak are to her left. The reverse of the coin will feature the heraldic eagle with a shield, olive branch in its right talon, and arrows to the left. The coin will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity and will have no mintage or household limit. Current retail for the San Francisco Proof Silver Eagle is $64.50.
