2015 Silver American Eagle
Silver American Eagles (SAEs) from the United States Mint are one of the most popular modern coins with both collectors and investors year in and year out. The 2015 releases of these beautiful coins are now available for pre-order at SilverTowne. Choose from various certified and non-certified SAE selections in both mint state and proof finishes.
Add 2015 Mint State Silver Eagles to your collection as non-certified BU coins, or pick up your SAEs certified by third-party grading companies NGC or PCGS. Order your NGC certified eagles with the American Liberty Series (ALS) Label, Star Label, the early release Blue Label, or choose one of two SilverTowne Exclusive labels – the Country Label or the Bald Eagle Label. In addition to the mint state finish, Silver American Eagles have also been issued nearly every year that Silver Eagle coins have been released (since 1986) as a Proof version. The one exception was in 2009 when no proof SAE was released – the coin was temporarily suspended in 2009 due to unprecedented demand for the mint state bullion version of the coin in that year.
Coins are designated as proof versions based on a specific manufacturing process that utilizes a specially treated die to strike the coin. This special die, combined with multiple strikes of the blank (2 or more), creates a mirror-like shine to the field area of the coin (the portion behind the raised main design elements). Proof versions of select coins are produced by the United States Mint in order to offer ‘higher-end’ collector’s editions of popular releases.
