Arapaho Tomahawk Curved Coin
The Native American Curved Weapons Series honors tribes pairing them with an original Native American weapon that they may have used in battles among one another and with immigrants over many centuries. The Arapaho tribe is paired with the tomahawk weapon in this series. This is the 3rd release in the 8 coin Curved Weapons Series from the Native American Mint.
The obverse of these hand sculpted domed/curved proof silver coins feature a Arapaho clutching his weapon, the tomahawk, ready to fight. Around the design the weight and purity designation can be found with arrowheads separating the information like bullet points. Inscriptions are the following: "ARAPAHO TOMAHAWK", "ONE DOLLAR", "999 SILVER", "ONE OUNCE", and "2019" The colorized reverse then depicts a hand sculpted tribal war shield. The words "JAMUL SOVEREIGN NATION" appears around the edge of the reeded coin.
