2016 West Point Mint (W) Silver American Eagle (SAE) Burnished BU - Includes Original Government Packaging (OGP) and Certificate of Authenticity (COA)

The year 2016 marked the 30th Anniversary of the bullion issue Silver American Eagle, in memoriam of the anniversary, each 2016 SAE in Burnished version has edge lettering around the rim of the coin that says "30th ANNIVERSARY".

Unlike normal bullion issue SAEs, each W Mint Mark Burnished coin comes in the original government packaging which includes a fitted protective plastic capsule, the blue box and a certificate of authenticity.

The term "Uncirculated-burnished" refers to the specialized minting process used to create these coins. Although they are similar in appearance to the ordinary Uncirculated (BU) Silver American Eagle Bullion Coins, the burnished coins can be distinguished by the addition of a 'W' mintmark on the reverse and the satin-like field behind the frosted features on the coin. Burnished SAEs are made expressly for collectors and still contain 1 troy ounce of .999 fine silver.
