"AH-TEN-SHON!" 2013 5-Star Generals Commemorative Coins

2013 5 Star General Coin

For the latest commemorative coin program, the United States Mint has released three separate coins honoring five 5-Star Generals, all of whom served during World War II. George Marshall, Douglas MacArthur, Dwight Eisenhower, Henry "Hap" Arnold and Omar Bradley were the only 5-Star Generals during World War II.

All five men dedicated their lives to serving the United States of America, and each is an alumnus of the United States Army Command and General Staff College located in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. According to the U.S. Mint, the United States Army Command and General Staff College was founded in 1881 and is the Nation’s oldest military staff college. It has served all branches of the military during times of war and peace, educating and training officers with the necessary skills to be decisive leaders, helping our Nation preserve its freedoms and way of life.
