Gold Commemoratives

Gold Commemorative Coins made available by the US Mint are not minted for general circulation, although they are legal tender. All commemorative coins are minted in limited quantities and are only made available by the US Mint for a limited time. Although the most commonly released Commemorative Coins are Silver Dollars, Congress occasionally authorizes Gold Commemorative Coins with a $5 or $10 face value.
