Non-Certified Silver Dollar Commemorative Coins
Silver Dollar Commemorative Coins made available by the US Mint are not minted for general circulation, although they are legal tender. All commemorative coins are minted in limited quantities and are only made available by the US Mint for a limited time. The Mint oftentimes releases commemorative coins in Proof (PF) and Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) selections. Commemorative coin designs are authorized by Congress and celebrate and honor American people, places, events and institutions. Non-Certified Silver Dollar Commemoratives (also known as raw) have not been graded or certified by a third-party, but are otherwise the same as Certified Silver Dollar Commemorative Coins.
